Sometimes you really have to wonder what the Oscars are all about. It seems to me that rarely does the best film win. So I thought I would test my theory out.

Time is the best judge of whether or not a film is great and IMDb is as good a barometer of quality as I believe you can find.

So what I am going to to do is to take all of the nominees for best picture and rank them according to their IMDB score, and just for good measure I will throw in films which didn't even get nominated in the first place, just to see how good a judge the Academy is.
